Dziupla Music shop

Dziupla is a Mecca for the fans of heavy metal music. It is run by Andrzej Ujczak, an economist, but als

o an amateur sailor, scuba diver and carpenter. In 1979, he opened the first shop to sell rock music in Eastern Europe. His shop is a part of a house built by his

grandfather, Piotr Ujczak in 1932, from which Andrzej started to sell hard-rock records and cassettes. One of his customers was a Soviet general, who used to come to visit the shop incognito. Later, the shop expanded its range and to sell T-shirts, concert tickets and other gadgets. Today, “Dziupla” is both a retail and wholesale shop, attracting new generations of heavy metal fans from Poland and abroad. “Dziupla” participates actively in creating and promoting the heavy metal scene in Warsaw.
